Are you a fan of comedies and are up for a good laugh any time? Then the comedy movies on this list are must watch for you.

1. Hangover Part 1 and Part 2

Four Guys (Groom and his three best men) go on a bachelor trip to Las Vegas. After a night of (mis-)adventures and drunkenness, the groom mysteriously goes missing. The three guys need to find him and take him back in time for the wedding. This is part one. And it will be an understatement to say it’s ridiculously hilarious. The second one is on similar lines and is equally funny if not more.

2. Horrible Bosses

Horrible bosses
Warner Bros Pictures

Released               : 2011
Cast                       : Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx

Who doesn’t hate their boss? If you don’t, excuse us, you are a freaking minority. Kurt, Nick, and Dale have issues with their bosses. They go a step ahead (really ahead) and plan to “assassinate” their bosses by hiring a hitman. The real fun happens when things go a little haywire. It’s an amusing movie, and a must watch.

3. Crazy, Stupid, Love

crazy stupid love
Warner Bros Pictures

Released                : 2011
Cast                        : Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Marisa Tomei, Kevin Bacon

Cal is jerked out of his perfect life after his wife asks him for a divorce. Now middle-aged and heartbroken, he has been completely out of the dating game for long. Fortunately, Cal meets a womanizer Jacob, a smooth and easy talker, and finds a wingman in him. Jacob not only advances him in picking women but also revamps his “persona”. This movie is funny, engaging and strictly sensible.

4. 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street

jump street
Sony Pictures

Released                     : 2012 (Part 1) & Part 2(2014)
Cast                             : Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill
21 Jump Street Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISJR4rVO0TQ
22 Jump Street Trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qP755JkDxyM

Two eccentric yet likable police officers go undercover in a high school, as students, to expose a drug cartel. It turns out they were high school mates in that same high school. While on the case, they go back into the college mode and become “teenagers”, thus jeopardizing the case. The movie is hilarious, the chemistry between the leads is impeccable, and they make a perfect team. Part 2 is pretty awesome as well.

5. Super Bad

super bad
Columbia Pictures

Released               : 2007
Cast                       : Jonah Hill, Michael Cera
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNpoTxeydiY

In case you were straight as a high school kid you’ve got to watch this movie to get an impression of the other side. In case you were “bad” enough, this movie sure might be a good flashback? Seth and Evan decide to go “crazy” while they are still in high school before setting off for colleges. However, things get effed-up. The movie is kind of profane and spoilt but portrays matters of adolescence rather brazenly. It’s definitely fun to watch, so give it a go.

6. The Dictator

dictator
Paramount Pictures

Released               : 2012
Cast                       : Sacha Baron Cohen, Anna Ferris, Megan Fox
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYplvwBvGA4

This movie is one of it’s kind and is basically a political-satire. Aladeen, a ruler of the Republic of Wadiya, is dictatorial, anti-west, anti-women and also childish. He visits New York to address the United Nations Security Council, but things get twisted for him when he gets abducted. The movie is differently funny and twisted. It’s incredible to watch Aladeen as a typically nuanced person who might be a tyrant but in the end is a person trying to live.

7. Death at a Funeral

death at funeral
Verve/ MGM Distribution

Released               : 2007
Cast                       : Matthew Macfadyen, Peter Dinklage, Ewen Bremner, Keeley Hawes, Daisy Donovan
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2QduclQhfg

I was not very sure if it would turn out to be a good watch. But it most certainly was a comedy to its core. Daniel’s father’s funeral turns out to be a pretty confusing and messy affair. First thing first a wrong body is delivered to Daniel, then a cousin turns up stoned, and if it wasn’t enough, a stranger appears who warns to come out in open with some deep-seated family secrets. It was indeed a roller coaster of a funeral.

8. The Interview

the interview
Columbia Pictures

Released               : 2014
Cast                       : Seth Rogen, Randall Park, James Franco
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frsvWVEHowg

This is one of those movies where you wouldn’t know what to expect. Dave, the host of a show ‘Skylark Tonight’ and his Producer Aaron, initiate an interest to interview Kim Jong-un, who, supposedly, was a fan of the show. An interview is okayed from South Korea’s side. Complications happen when CIA intervenes (obviously secretively), and commands the duo to assassinate Kim while they are on their trip to North Korea to interview him. The movie, from the point of view of a comedy, is a laugh riot. Prefer to leave out, if you will, political context and reference to real people.

9. Safety Not Guaranteed

safety not guaranteed
FilmDistrict

Released                : 2012
Cast                        : Aubrey Plaza, Mark Duplass, Jake Johnson, Karan Soni
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73jSnAs7mq8

This is a concoction of comedy, romance, relationships, science and pseudo-time traveling. Darius, an intern at Seattle Magazine, teams up with Kenneth, a strange guy, who had advertised a newspaper classified ad saying: “Wanted: Somebody to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. P.O. Box 91 Ocean View, WA 99393. You’ll get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed. I have only done this once before.” Sounds interesting right? The movie is through and through an entertainer and offers a lot of aspects to be enjoyed.

10. Wedding Crashers

wedding crashers
New Line Cinema

Released               : 2005
Cast                       : Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams, Christopher Walken, Will Ferrell, Isla Fisher, Jane Seymour
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeUSo8voIXM

John and Jeremy are no-commitment guys who gatecrash weddings to meet girls and have a good time. However, things go amiss when John falls in love with a girl on one of their excursions. The movie is fun to watch with funny dialogues, good settings, and interesting characters. It’s a good mix of friendship, romance, and comedy.

11. Father of the Bride

father of the bride
Touchstone Pictures

Released               : 1991
Cast                       : Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Martin Short
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7INDbzMlB4

It’s a sweet movie and though the oldest on the list, it’s timeless with its story. It’s a narrative of how a father deals with the emotional situation of getting his daughter married, and letting her go and move on with her life. The moments shared between George(The father) and Bryan (The To-Be Groom) are endearing. The confusion and the little eccentrics throughout the movie are amusing. It’s really touching and at the same time funny to see how George comes to terms with his Annie’s wedding.

12. Spy

spy
20th Century Fox

Released               : 2015
Cast                       : Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, Jude Law
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrY3v1eDmQY

This is one exceptional movie. There is action, crime, comedy, and spying. Susan Cooper who worked as CIA analyst( a total desk job) finds herself in live action. And boy, she kills at being a spy. Bradley Fine, an agent, is compromised and that’s when Cooper volunteers to be a spy. With zero prior real-time experience she ventures out undercover to expose dangerous gangsters and save the world.

13. Ted

ted
Universal Pictures

Released               : 2012
Cast                       : Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Joel McHale, Giovanni Ribisi, Seth MacFarlane
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Vl5q06UElM

The movie is utterly hilarious and unbelievably engaging. John as a child wished for his Teddy Bear to come alive. His wish was granted, and till now as a middle-aged man, John has had a constant companion in Ted( the teddy bear who actually came to life). Sounds incredulous, doesn’t it? John’s girlfriend, Lori, is as annoyed with John as Ted is, and that’s when Ted helps John”grow up”.

14. Liar Liar

liar liar
Universal Pictures

Released               : 1997
Cast                       : Jim Carrey, Jennifer Tilly, Maura Tierney, Justin Cooper
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1no75lpOiw

Fletcher is a master liar and lies about every big and little thing. His career is entirely built on lies, and though he is a successful lawyer, his personal life is as bad as it can get. He has got a great family, but he himself is immoral and pathetic. His son prays that Fletcher stops lying. That wish is somehow granted, and Fletcher’s life is turned upside down in every way possible. The movie throws a few life lessons and is amusing as hell.

15. This is the End

this is the end
Columbia Pictures

Released               : 2013
Cast                       : James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Emma Watson
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yma-g4gTwlE

It’s different and a good kind of different. The real actor James Franco throws a party and invites celebrity friends. In the middle of the party, the world is hit by an unimaginable apocalypse. James Franco his chaps Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson along with other guests are trapped in the party while things are getting grave everywhere and the world is collapsing. It’s a funny, fantastical story, pretty out of the box and a guide on how to face an apocalypse with friends.
